An amazing experience. I first found the exo-skeletons of this cicada but then found two newly emerged cicadas. On the next tree I then found one in the process of emerging from the nymph stage. Checking every tree for a count I found two that had darkened to the final adult colour but then near the end amazingly, I found one that was in the process of attaching itself to the trunk of the tree and was then abale to witness it emerge from its nymph stage. I was excited that I had managed to experience and photograph all stages of the transition from nymph to adult.
