User's notes

I heard the call of a gang-gang indicating it was coming in. The male gang-gang flew low, and came from the west, traversing the entire length of the reserve. He crossed the main east road and briefly rested (in the vicinity of Track), calling, before turning left and flying high over the closest building. I then watched him descend. As this was the area that Cam had alerted me to re a new nest hollow, I trotted (as fast as my unfit knees would let me) over there. The tree had been chewed markedly, and there were many potential hollows. Suddenly, the male flew to a tiny hollow, and in the blink of an eye had disappeared in (hence, the photo is only of his tail). (As an aside - I am interested that gang-gangs enter hollows either head-first, or tail-first - while glossy-black cockatoos only enter tail first. So much to notice!)
