Very tiny still but on a tree in my yard (I had to empty the birdbath as so many were dropping into it) and on a tree in a nearby park, where these photos were taken. Have collected a few and will keep an eye on them but I am going away next week for about three weeks so not sure what will eventuate.
Pop a couple into a clean jar with a fabric cover held by an elastic band.. Put some dry dirt in the bottom to control the humidity, and a twig of nice leaves. Put on kichen windowsill and cross your fingers.
This one is Chloroclystis sp. It is not as dumpy and spiky as the beetle larvae. In the 2nd shot the caterpillar is hanging on with its anal claspers which the beetle larvae don't have. The leaf beetles ( Sighting 4691748 ) were by-catch or co-habitants on the food plant
