User's notes

This Gang Gang loves the eucalyptus seed pods of this particular tree. He is there from dawn till dusk most days. thousands of half-eaten seed pods litter my back yard. The other day this Gang Gang was being harassed by some Currawongs. He found an unlikely ally in the local Red-wattle bird who saw off the Currawongs. A Sulfur-crested Cockatoo then gave the Gang Gang a good shouting at. The Gang Gang just retreated a little further into the foliage and kept eating.

Thanks Looks like a Blue Gum - at this time of year eucalypt gum nuts make about 50% of the Gang-gang diet with Blue Gums such as this one being by far the preferred feed eucalypt tree. Probably will be gone from Giralang by September but would be interested if still there

Thanks Michael
