User's notes
Unsure what these were but possibly some form of lichen. There were several clumps of dark brown matter within a short crack running down the south side of a tree. The matter was covered with these coloured shapes. Close inspection of the images show that many appear to be growing initially from cup shapes with dark brown outsides and coloured insides, some round, some other shapes. One for CNM's experts.
