Almost stepped on it on my front door mat. Can it be identified to species? Are there any features I should photograph before I release it?

Thanks Mike I find it a bit difficult to distinguish between Ctenomorpha marginipennis and Acrophylla titan, but the proportions of the differing segments of the thorax - when viewed from the top is a key feature which is shown in your images
