User's notes

Suspect not planted although in an area where many trees and shrubs have been planted. One tree with bark characteristics shown, and two clumps of regrowth? from lignotubers perhaps.

Not planted at least not by FoMM; there were plantings at the inner Fair project site such as Callitris, Kunzea ericifolia, and various unspecified Eucalyptus by anonymous. So this might be another non local anonymous planting of some type of Eucalyptus.

wait for flowers, fruit, I guess

Looked again recently Jan 2026, no buds yet - now think they could have been planted ... This tree has pin on my Google Map.

The largest tree in this sighting has been frilled and is now dead - a pity since it was the largest of many saplings of this type of possibly a vulnerable species, showing the transition in foliage type from broad leaves at an early stage to narrower leaves on the upper growth. It would have been better to wait for the flowers and fruit!

Possibly E. aggregata or E. macarthurii

It was me who frilled it when I was on a Blue gum mission in that area and it was an error ... when I realized, I took photos of one of the other saplings / young trees, taped it, and collected specimens for id. Judged by the features, there are close to 10 young of the same un-identified eucalyptus species growing near by and I assume there will be more germination; perhaps there are more saplings around that we haven't noticed. The big carpets and artificial lawn of the nearby illegal camp will however suppress the germination of eucs or other (good or bad).
