The local resident continues spreading Chilean Needle Grass clippings after mowing behind his and neighbours backyards. A member of Friends of Mt Majura asked the local resident several times in the past 20 years to discontinue spreading this high priority weed of national significance and has offered a trash bag for free. FoMM asked PCS rangers to talk to local resident. PCS rangers change frequently and to my knowledge haven't had the opportunity to talk to the local resident in the past 20 years. FoMM carries out work to control this high priority weed in the area, working with scouts and other members of the community. Work includes spraying with herbicide, manual removal, topping with mulch to suppress seed germination, and planting and direct seeding of native grass to provide competition. However all hard work is for nothing when the local resident continues to deliberately spread the weed. The resident also planted in the nature reserve behind his garden this invasive Golden Rain Tree https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4661514 - the lower parts of it just visible in the back of the first photograph - and spreads leaves and seeds (?) in the reserve.
