User's notes
On a footpath at the Arboretum there was an exposed tree root damaged by foot traffic. The root was oozing resin and trapped within one of the small globs of resin was a suffocated ant. Under different conditions and times this might have become a resin encased fossil. There were no other ants in the immediate vicinity to help with identification. Unlikely to be able to identify any further than ‘ant.’ More of a curiosity than anything else.
