NB No wing buds = apterus. Normally seen on Restionaceae in heathlands eg along the Nerriga Road. I have not seen it in woodlands nor so far west but have not checked the Atlas.

A good find worth following up.

There is a second species of Psednura, P. musgravei, that coexists with P. pedestris. It would be worth getting pictires of the genitalia that would help distinguish the two. In fact pictures of the genitalia are always useful for Orthoptera.

A check of Key,s original paper describing all the species of Psednurini with locations, confirms that the inland species is Psednura musgravei not P.pedestris. The Monga location is new.
