The ALA and the AFD list the species for Australia but there are no photographic records visible on the ALA. Bold Systems 4 shows no records for Australia. Wikepedia records the species is found in 'bogs and fens' ie wetlands in the Northern Hemisphere. No reference to the species being regarded as a pest species in Australia was found. Looks like Limnaecia phragmitella but there are no records of it in Australia. Hmm...

AFD has it, so it must have occurred here somewhere.

Certainly occurs in New Zealand and AFD and the ALA recognize it, so I'll add it to the taxonomy. Perhaps it is known to Australian Quarantine. Quite possibly an important sighting.

A new species for NatureMapr and NatureMapr's Canberra and Southern Tablelands region. Excellent photos.

Thanks Don and Ian. Is it a pest, do you think? Do we need to let anyone know?
