Sporadic outbreaks of this beetle resulting in the defoliation of the euc canopy have been reported in the past from this area with larvae positively heaving in the litter

Wow, they were everywhere I turned in this area but did not do a proper count. I should return to see the progression. They defoliated a couple of young eucalypts at our house but didn't seem to move out of that one little area.

@AlisonMilton they're cute little (naughty?) Beetles aren't they! If you head to either part of Tallaganda NP at the moment I'd bet you'd spot an erosa party!!

@clarehoneydove Thanks. I see the occasional one but unfortunately I don't drive so getting outside of Canberra is rare (unless I have a friendly driver). Love this beetle however.
