These images provide additional details at 5X magnification for previous sighting 4628734. The first image shows the lacewing’s bulbous compound eyes which are almost complete hemispheres. The second image shows a compound eye and some elements of the adjacent antenna. The third image shows the red pterostigma whose purpose is explained in sighting 4624248. This image also shows the yellow, green, blue and black wing veins that give the Lacewing its distinctive colour. The fourth image is a close-up detail of wing veins and minute hairs at the leading edge of a wing. The final image is similar to the fourth and shows consistent branching of the wing veins that connect to the leading edge of a wing.
