Found basking in the middle of the road, so we nudged it over to the side to get it out of the way from incoming vehicles.

Many thanks for this report. DNA has revealed there are two kinds of Rosenberg's Goanna in the ACT. Samples so far indicate that the unusual one lives at higher elevation but that may be just an artifact of our sampling so far. We are collecting DNA from further afield to try to understand. I would love to get a DNA sample from this part of the ACT region, where Rosenberg's are extremely rare. So if you see this goanna again @BenW , please put it in a bag or call me, or preferably both. Likewise for a carcass. If it is fresh, please refrigerate it and call me on 0428 48 9990 .
