Ist electronic record of this potential pest of pines in the ACT. There is one other electronic record of the genus in our region a 1961 record of Arhopalus syriacus from near Batlow

I can only find records of Arhopalus rusticus in Australia but I'm not sure if this beetle is not a better match for Arhopalus ferus.

I hope I am right as Arhopalus ferus is a major quarantine risk to Australia
All Arphoplus beetles are pests of pine plantations and planted pinanceae. They are a notifiable insect in the ACT. I will seek a second opinion from kim Pullen @KimberiRP and Roger Farrow @RogerF

@MichaelMulvaney I have two more sightings of this beetle: 4614161 and 4615043. I have collected 4615043 and it is now in my freezer if anyone is interested in looking at it more closely.

I think you should take the specimens to CSIRO ANIC or give to Kim Pullen to take there. I believe There is a Cerambychid expert still working there.
