@LyndalT lovely! Second photo has a hoverfly, maybe Melangyna viridiceps or Simosyrphus grandicornis.

@LyndalT definitely the wrong one. Do you remember if it had a coloured collar? Like a yellow or white band on the skinny part between the head and body?
