User's notes

This is either P. corni (European fruit lecanium) or Perscicae. Host plant is a forest pansy. Scale appears dormant. Crawlers released. Open to suggestions

Observing these over a period of months, they’ve never displayed white wax, or congregated together, therefore I don’t think they are giant snowball mealybug. They also seem to display different behaviour and distribution, are much bigger than the giant snowball mealybug and are more consistent with the type of scale I identified, but thanks for the suggestion. Keen for a mod to weigh in as it would be good to know exactly what this is.
