A male and female Gang-gang cockatoo took turns to build this hollow. They could be observed chewing in and around the entry, carrying larger pieces of debris out from deeper in the hollow, as well as entering the hollow head first and kicking or scratching out smaller debris. The pair spent around a month constructing their home, now one at a time can be seen sitting within the hollow. Whilst the hollow was being constructed, a ‘teenaged’ female Gang-gang was noisily accompanying the two adults, likely a young from last season. She appears to have paired and moved further towards Ainslie-Majura.

Hey Michael, I would like to think they are the same individuals. They are the only pair with a young female we observed in this particular corridor, but I never took note of distinguishing features (perhaps lack of is also an indicator?).

Hi Lisa - exciting news - there is a newly hatched Gang-gang chick in this hollow - I think they are the same pair that nested at Daramalan
