P. angustipes is highly nitid and puncturation on the elytra is imperceptible fine. P. morio has fine but visible puncturation both along striae and interstitially. Morio is sometimes reddish or faint reddish striped and usually with red behind the head. Both species are local to this region although angustipes is montane and morio is widespread.
