I watched the ladybird take evasive action a couple times to avoid being taken by the dragonfly, but then its luck ran out.

Have never seen a Dragonfly hunting and then catch the prey and have only seen a Dragonfly with prey a few times. You were in the right place at the right time to see this, but the Ladybird wasn't. Sure is great to see the Dragonflies again.

This observation was made at the top of a very breezy hill, almost 1km from the nearest dam.
