In grassy woodland a patch of pure CNG; not treated as yet. FoMM volunteers carried out work in this paddock to improve the grassy woodland since 2006; the paddock is part of Mt Majura nature reserve and I do not understand why I can't moderate records.
thanks Steve818 unfortunately I forgot my password and had computer crashes since I first logged in, so I'm not sure whether it will work when I log in with new password... I have been asking the CNM team whether it could be that for one or another reason google excludes this part from Mt Majura nature reserve; it might be that the area is Hackett or Watson. I'm able to moderate to the east and to the west...
Hi Waltraud. The Mt Majura map on CNM has been created by using 4 polygons. This record is not in any of them. Maybe the polygons need to be updated. Do you have a map of Mt Majura NR that I can look at?
MichaelBedingfield No I don't have a current map of Mt Majura nature reserve. It seems that boundaries have changed sometimes ago, for instance on the west slope, a part of the special purpose reserve (horse holding paddock) has been added to the nature reserve south of Oldfields Lane; however, Friends of Mt Majura have not been informed. Field maps showed this change for a while but about 2 years ago has removed parts of nature reserve from the map. It is all very confusing particularly when we map with Field maps because we don't know whether we work inside or outside the nature reserve. Google map (https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=mount+majura+nature+reserve+map) shows a funny shaped site cutting through the nature reserve area at the paddock where I experience the moderation problem; this might the problem. The paddock/s were returned to nature reserve in 2014, see for instance https://majura.org/petition-to-move-majura-paddocks-back-to-nature-reserve-21092013/ particularly the maps (paddock 6 is where I experience the problem) and FoMM's newsletter https://majura.org/friends-of-mount-majura-fomm-newsletter-june-2014/ As I said all very confusing.... cc Steve818
I fixed broken links in the above mentioned newletter blog; then Chief Minister Gallagher referred clearly in her letter to paddocks 5 and 6 when she confirmed the return to nature reserve; the associated change of territory plan was gazetted in 2014. So from this side there shouldn't be a problem. However when you go to ACTmapi Custodianship block 1 Section 85 seems not clear cut and the boundary of pc nature reserve is not given.
Hi Waltraud. I've amended one of the polygons so that both paddocks 5 & 6 are included in the CNM map. See now on this sighting that Mount Majura is stated as the relevant Map.
