User's notes

Tiny dark brown cylinder shapes on dark brown stalks. Unsure what these are. Have placed them under Slime Moulds for now as they have some resemblance to Stemonitales. Sighted growing from a rotting tree trunk.

@TimL without greater detail one cannot get to species, however you are correct with your suggestion - note how the columella, an extension on the stem, continues almost to the tip of the sporotheca with a slight 'kink' at its tip, very typical of a stemonitis species which is often found in larger groups. Wonderful find, many thanks for your great observations. T
