Hi mvos, Many thanks for posting this sighting of one of the last few goannas in the Ainslie Majura area. I will get back to you in these comments about which one it is if I can identify him (it is almost certainly a male) from other photos of the left face and right face.
Please could you check the location, i.e. the front yard of 85 Irvine St, because the image looks like it was actually taken in the open space area, not in a private yard.
OK, not sure where you mean but I moved it a bit by clicking on 'edit', then in the map clicking the new location, then clicking 'update' (or whatever name is given to the button used to accept the change). The system allows the author to correct it further in the same way if you want to.
I haven't been able to match the face to any of the seven known individuals, nor to reject them all. If you see him again, maybe try to move slowly closer to get a sharp image of the patterns on the face (left or right, preferably both). Did his tail look complete, or was it a stump with the end missing? If a stump it is goanna Rum.
