These viscid yellow blobs appeared to be sessile. Although meat ants were all over the tree, there were none at all on the branch that that these and the hairstreak pupa were on.

Hi @JenniM if you can make the yellow blobs a separate sighting, I can then confirm the pupa as Stencilled Hairstreak for you.
