User's notes

An unknown eucalyptus which is not a local species ; I'm afraid the 2 specimens have been planted by someone well meaning but without a clue; there was planting of inappropriate species in the area before, see https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4386656

We will not get anywhere without the fruit if it is a planting.

Introducing new species for climate resilience?

I don't know; someone has planted inappropriate species before, see my first comment and someone carried out pruning of local euc trees. Certainly not actions that have been approved or that I would support.

I added a photo of trunk with smooth bark and shoots with young leaves from the ligno tuber. I haven't seen a eucalyptus of this kind on Mt Majura. I collected samples and gave one to our botanist.

Curious for Isobel’s thoughts, but not sure how far she will get without fruit
