A strange phenomenon: This started out as a small pool of liquid, with the colour & texture of yellow custard. It had seeped out of the ground above an old softwood tree stump/roots. I didn't have time to photograph it. The next morning it had turned to a greyish pink colour and had developed some more erect shapes, with lines/texture. A few hours later it had turned dark brown as in the photos.

Its one of the Stemonitis species. They go through beautiful colour changes within a 24hr period, and different species have different colour changes and formations. Quite exciting to watch their growth.
