Hi @MichaelMulvaney @bambararick @Safarigirl, Sorry I cant see the similarity Michael. Pretty sure they are different. But if people take and store images of the left face and right face of goannas sighted in the area, sooner or later some resightings are expected. This species lives for decades. Our movements research over 4 years shows they are highly faithful to a home range for that length of time, but also males can make excursions out to places up to 12 km away and back. There appear to be different patterns, for example naturmapr records in the Baroona area show several individuals seen repeatedly over 7 years plus a few seen only once. That contrasts with the Gudgenby area where there have been no repeats, suggesting Gudgenby MAY be a 'sink' population, replenished by overflow out of the nearby Naas Valley population. @bambararick you asked in 2014 how to make Rosenberg's more successful. The answer is to reduce predation by foxes. Not easy to achieve I know, but you dont need to bring the fox population as low as required for some other native species. Large areas of bushland are also needed.
