prostrate plant, forming dense intertwined carpet across small natural pools on organic soils: flowering when exposed.
No mature fruits: and identification as Myriophyllum lophatum based on length of pedicel for mature male flower (10 mm) and on leaf length (7-8 mm): the other likely species with similar habit and appearance has shorter pedicel and longer leaves.
