Resprouting post fire. Looked very much like Hibbertia obustifolia but not velvety, smooth. Quite fleshy stem but still a very young plant.

Yes that was another option. Everything so young , only 8 months post fire and IDing anything was making our brains hurt in 36 degree heat. I'll have to go back in a few months to confirm.

The leaves are the wrong shape for Persoonia rigida but don't look quite greyish enough for Hibbertia calycina ... so yes, definitely worth checking it out again.
