Not confident this is Carex polyantha. Usually it has longer spikes, and is a robust tussock. I can't see any height info here, but photo suggests maybe 50-60 cm tall, with slender habit.

Plant is a large tussock as far as I can see, this plant looks pretty typical of the spent plants I am seeing in the hills at the moment.
