The species seems very variable, and some BOLD specimen have the 'cross' where the forewing torni meet.

Agreed, there is a lot of apparent variation as seen on the ALA, for example, but I don't see many there which lack the broad black band right along the costa or have the wide black band this specimen has at the thorax.
