I'll preface by saying that I don't know my moths, at all. I'm wondering if this is closer to being a yellow carpet moth? The edging and underwing patterning don't seem to match the photos of Chrysolarentia mecynata, but are closer to the yellow carpet moth (except this one doesn't have the striking mid-band patterning)? I really don't know - all I know is that this was a beautiful yellow colour, which I'd not seen before and caught my eye, so I followed until I could get some photos.
