This is one I'd like to raise to beetle stage to ID.

Hi Alison,
Is it relatively easy to do? I could give it a try. I'll be back in Canberra Saturday. John

Hi John, It is relatively easy if the larvae are of this size or larger. I bought a bunch of small insect containers and cover the top with fine soft fly screen as the larvae can get through the slats. Just feed fresh, (young if possible) leaves every few days. I also bought some very small glass bottles from a $2 shop. Add some wet cottonwool and put the stem of the leaves in this to keep the leaves fresh longer - though I don't always do this so up to you. The small bottles prevent the larvae from drowning in a larger bottle. Alternatively, I could always collect the larvae from you to raise myself.
Thanks

I'll see if I can find it again when I come back to Canberra.

I might wander down there myself. I also live in Belconnen so not too far away.
