User's notes

Pale morph adult hunting over the ridgeline, and returning to the same dead tree on several occasions. Incredible views as it circled overhead, dived, patrolled low over the grasslands and perched in the tree in front of me.

Great photos - thanks so much. Very helpful re ID for the Little Eagle research project. Just a small correction, this is a pale "dark morph" bird. The wings show the dark morph pattern, with a dark bar running across the wings. A light morph bird has a white bar in between a rufous bar on the shoulders and a dark bar on the bottom of the wings. Easy to mix them up when the bird has pale legs. :) See my sighting which shows both morphs: Hieraaetus morphnoides (Little Eagle)

Thanks for the correction - I just assumed it was a light morph because it was much paler than any other dark morphs I've seen.
