Wish we knew a reliable one! Spines indicate Callery, but not all Callery have them, it seems. Spines vary in type; this sighting has a suggestion of small peg type spines.
Lack of spines was a selection criterion for development of cultivars of Callery. Open pollinated progeny of various cultivars may or may not have them, I suspect.
