Hi Alison, Nasutitermes genus termites are commonly called 'gluegun' termites because the soldiers have a single pointed snout which can produce a droplet of sticky corrosive liquid (no visible jaws). I cant see a soldier in this image to enable identification, but the workers dont look right for the Nasutitermes species I am used to. Its easy to identify the mound building species. There are only two and their mounds are different. Was this photo inside a mound? Do you have any more information or photos which could help with the ID?

Hi Don, the termites were not inside a mound, just under some bark.
