User's notes

The story at School Hollow - the galahs are nesting, and the gang gangs are back! However, as they were unable to work on their preferred hollow because of the current inhabitants (photo 4), they glided to another hollow close by (which held duck eggs last year, so I think of it as Duck Hollow - photos 2 & 3). I'd noticed last week that some work had happened at the hollow, but it seems a lot more work is being done. I thought this might be their backup hollow, as they proceeded to enthusiastically chew around the hollow and a nearby limb. However, after a few minutes, there was a call from another pair of incoming gang gangs. The School pair skedaddled back towards their hollow, and a new pair swooped in (next sighting). Half an hour later, and the School pair were sitting in branches above their hollow, where the non-sitting galah also perched (photo 5), before being overwhelmed by raucous sulphur-crested cockatoos. The two pair of gang gangs flew off for the night.
