Small sandpiper with dark back, wings and head, a paler chest and a white belly. Accidentally flushed from beside a paleochannel and flew off into the western paddock, where we relocated it feeding on the far bank of a shallow reach with dotterels. After a minute it flew off again towards us, but we could not relocate it from behind the fence.
