We first heard the distinctive calling of Zanda funerea. A large flock was then observed flying in a straight line from the vicinity of Black Mountain, over O’Connor, towards Mt. Majura. There were 47 birds in the main formation, grouped in threes and fours, followed by 8 more, and then a final 4. Unfortunately, by the time a photo was taken only the 4 stragglers were visible in the distance through tree branches.
