I having trouble putting new names on these 'unidentified' galls. I think the category should be just galls as they are being progressively identified to species. Can you remind me of the steps to enter new names as I keep end up at a dead end.

We also need more details of host plant species as many gall inducers are species specific even on eucs

Likely galls of males of *Apiomorpha strombylosa* but would need to find galls of females on the same plant to confirm this. I agree that encouraging people to include host plant id information is useful for some lower-level ids of gall-inducing insects.

The species was confirmed by Apiomorpha expert Dr Penny Gullan, The females do not necessarily have to be on the same plant due to the vagaries of dispersal of the crawlers but I agree its unusual. Also the disparity in numbers betweeen males and females is poorly understood.
