User's notes

First report of this invasive weed in the grassy woodland of Mt Majura's (lower) west slope; previous reports were from the east slope and Justice Robert Hope Park. This approx 1m tall specimen grew under the (protective) canopy of Exocarpos cupressiformis in high-nutrient soil (judged by the herbaceous nitrogen-loving weeds that grow there). The frost-sensitive Inkweed seems to benefit from milder winters and may become a more common weed to watch out for. Seeds spread by birds, poisonous for humans, most likely a garden escape. The whole plant was pulled out and bagged for disposal.
