I heard a commotion - magpies, lapwings - and looked up to see a wedge-tail flying low, then into the trees. Camera whipped out, I took photos of I-didn't-know-what - but turned out to be the wedge-tail leaving the thicket, pursued by three brave magpies. The magpies dispersed when wedgie reinforcements arrived.
