Family of three Gang Gang cockatoos have been visiting this site most afternoons for a feed but have been difficult to photograph. Looks like one male, one female and a juvenile.
Thanks for this sighting AniseStar. I collated 4135 similar feeding records (thanks to all those that reported sighting) and found that a third of the foraging time by Gang-gangs in the Canberra area was spent feeding on Blue Gums. Way above any other food item. I am now, with the aid of Canberra Street trees and National Capital Authority data, mapping the distribution of Blue Gums across Canberra to see if the location of Blue Gum plantings has an influence on nest location. I did have records of these Blue Gums but would appreciate any further Gang-gang-Blue Gum sighting locations.
There are a large number of Blue Gums in the 'Watson Green Space' / Stirling Avenue Easement park under the power lines in Watson. The Friends of Watson Green Space Facebook group has a contributor who posts photos of Gang Gangs on the page but I'm not sure that he records them on NatureMapr.
