Photo from the archives to map birdlife in our local area. There were at least two but they were shy and I could only photograph the male. They hung around for a while, perhaps because watering of nearby ovals provided water during a very intense time of the 2019 drought. It was also much cooler in the gully, providing respite for heat stressed birds.
I probably should have posted it sooner. It is great that awareness of Canberra Nature Map is increasing and so we can now all do our bit for citizen science.
