Looking at the detailed guidelines for distinguishing Furcatrox (genus) species and Amelora anepiscepta in particular, provided on the supporting disc for Moths of Victoria (Part 5), it is difficult to distinguish A. anepiscepta from Furcatrox cf paracus because both species show a moderate degree projection of the forewing termen distinguishing them from other Furcatrox species. While the ALA shows F, paracus sightings on the mainland, Moths of Victoria is tentative in saying F. paracus is a mainland species because the type specimens are predominantlyTasmanian. Nevertheless they say A. anespiscepta may prove to be a Furcatrox (genus) species with further work.
