Significant sighting

MichaelMulvaney noted:

26 Jan 2023

The Gang-gang is a nationally endangered species and just 25 nest sites were known across its range this year - nest hollows are difficult to locate

User's notes

Chick perched on edge of hollow. Observed calling to the male, stretching its wings regularly, scratching, preening and resting. Male feeding in a nearby tree, and female about 100 metres away (male flew from female to nest). Michael, I can email you more photos of the chick and both adults if necessary, though unfortunately it seems I did not get any of the wing stretching!

Thanks Ben fantastic and sufficient images - thanks heaps for all the hours of watching you put in this year - great to get a precise date of fledging - will send a draft of the fledging vs altitude paper out when I have updated it - still two nests to fledge - It was a sugar glider in the other hollow
