A Magpie had it in its beak but gave it up in favour of a dog food meat ball. Not sure if it was alive or injured I carried it home on my hand. It must have been stunned as it didn't move. At home it fully recovered after a few hours and I released it to join my back yard family. Its head seems distorted, perhaps from where the Magpie had hold of it but I don't recall noticing any distortion when I released it. I forgot to check, but it had lost its dark colouring. I presume it was dark to blend in with the base of the tree where the Magpie found it.
