I agree that the pattern of tufts and verrucae suggest that this is an Anthelid, but it does not look much like any in http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/anth/anth-cats.html. It would be good if you could rear it to the adult moth, but the mites may well kill it first.
I love your suggestions! If I see another one I will give it a go. I currently have some Heliocosma caterpillars that I am patiently watching do not a lot! I hope to report back on those soon!
