Settled on jasmine then flew up and down garden for about 3 minutes, hovering around plants, settling briefly on some, including on this magnolia

Interesting that you put the size as between 5mm to 12mm when this butterfly has a wingspan in excess of 100mm.

It's my first sighting and first post so I'm the newbie. It was probably more like 70mm! Can I change the listing? And it was special because we live on Ulysses Cct but Swallowtail Rd runs parallel!

I'm jealous that you even got a photo of one, I've currently got 548 butterfly sightings on CNM and not one single Orchard Swallowtail adult flying, only the larvae.

Yes, the other photos came through, very nice! This butterfly often lays its eggs on citrus plants such as Lemon or Mexican Orange, so if you have those in your garden, keep an eye out next season for the caterpillars.
