Significant sighting

MichaelMulvaney noted:

4 Dec 2022

An exceptionally important record for the ACT. A species that, until very recently, was thought to be possibly extinct in the ACT.

User's notes

Spotted by Nick Webb when investigating what the Sulphur-crested Cockatoos were screeching about. Had been out on the limb ;) when Nick spotted it. When I arrived it was lying in the hollow with its head poking out. Cockatoos not happy. Think I could hear nestlings in the hollow

An exceptionally important record for the ACT, so thanks for lodging the record. A species that, until very recently, was thought to be possibly extinct in the ACT.

Thanks Will, I hope we see more! It didn't seem very big, so possible a young animal?
   4 Dec 2022
Maybe this is why Gang-gangs don't seem to nest down your way?

Haha! Not sure which ones I want more - goannas, Gang-gangs or Superbs! So much competition for hollows

Later on saw Crimson Rosellas attempting to enter the hollow to get to their young but soon flew off
